New iPhone (iPod, phone, and internet device in one)

Post by Mikey_ » Tue Jan 09, 2007 11:40 am

I'm pretty excited about the new iPhone. It's a new iPod, phone, and web browser/e-mail client built as one.

I have a buddy who's into MAC/Apple everything...Even "ichat" as opposed to messenger programs such as MSN or Yahoo! But I don't think he would stand in line for this new babee since he doesn't even have an updated cellular phone. Still, it would be nice to have...Everything in the palm of your hands! I have the Blackberry Pearl and it rocks :)

iPhone will be available exclusively through Cingular. It's running a tiny version of OS X.

However, Cisco's currently suing Apple for using the name, 'iPhone'. Apparently, the name already belongs to Cisco.

I wonder what is the equivalent to Cingular up in Canada? Our big three providers up here (Well at least within my area) are Rogers Wireless, Bell Mobility, and Telus. My RazR's under Rogers Wireless. But to be honest, I don't use the Net on my phone, so I don't think an iphone would be good for me. I just use my phone as a phone and clock/watch. Sometimes I may use the camera or video features but that is all. Oh yeah...Can't forget my Lloyd Banks/50 Cent ringtone! :D

Yea, I have the Blackberry Pearl also and I love it. ^_^

I use it mostly for checking e-mail, texting and lately I've been using google map to find certain store in my area while I'm on the road. It's so convenient!! :D

Same reason for me as mb for how I use my phone. Personally, I'd never pay for internet service on the phone as it's too slow and too costly. They should make available a plan where you pay for what you use. Example: I'd like to look up a movie showtime for a particular theater and I don't have access to a computer.

Since my company's paying for everything, I like the availability to check personal e-mails on the phone :)

Equivalent of Cingular in Canada? No idea. Cingular's owned by AT&T now.
