Photos: Washington, DC trip (My MOST FAVORITE pics so far!)

Post by Mikey_ »

The following pictures were taken by me to learn to take better photos. They may NOT be reproduced anywhere without my express, written permission. Please contact me if you'd like to use any of them for publication. Thank you.

Taken July 1-July 5, 2005
Camera used: Canon EOS 20D

The trip was a BLAST! Relaxing, fun, interesting, and very fulfilling. I didn't want to return to work hehehehe... Finally got my hands on the new camera and here's my most favorite shot of the entire trip (shot as-is/unedited):

Image

Above: Washington Monument & the Reflecting Pool
If you have seen the Forrest Gump movie, that's where Jenny ran across the pool and shouted out Fo-o-rrest's name. This scene is one of the main reasons for why I went there as the movie is one of my favorites. The film shows how, through his deep innocence and genuine heart, a "stupid" person with all his shortcomings can be unconditionally loved no matter how "stupid" he may appear to be, AND still become successful in life.)

More will follow when I get the chance to work on them.

Great photo! You really should consider doing this kind of stuff for a living. :) I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your trip. When I went to D.C. this lake and the Lincoln Memorial were my absolute favorite spots, too. You've captured it quite nicely.
