Photos: Corona Del Mar Beach (Night Shots)

Post by Mikey_ »

The following pictures were taken by me to learn to take better photos. They may NOT be reproduced anywhere without my express, written permission. Please contact me if you'd like to use any of them for publication. Thank you.

Taken April 3, 2005 between Midnight and 2am
Camera used: Canon EOS Digital Rebel

The beach was almost completely pitch-black, especially when you have just arrived. It took about 5 minutes for the eyes to adjust to the darkness and be able to see a little bit. I'm pleasantly surprised the camera was able to take these shots. In fact, some of them actually look like sunset pictures...

2nd pic is a view of the Corona Del Mar beach and its firepits. Third pic (Plant Silhouette) is one of my favorites.

Holy! That picture gave me the creeps the moment I saw it!

FYI, those "Ghosts" photos I took were of myself. So, those aren't Ghosts... Unless you find me scary hehehehe...

Guess what? In this picture:

I now know why the sky was so orange even though there was no moon in sight at all. The moon was approaching its lowest point in its orbit in decades. In other words, June would be the time when you can barely see the full moon, if at all (depending on where you live.) This creates that orange atmosphere on the horizon.
