Top Secret Recipes version of
Jamba Juice Smoothies
by Todd Wilbur

Beat the heat with a couple cool clones from one of the top smoothie chains in the country. These smoothies are super huge, so rustle up a 24-ounce cup, or get ready to share. Here are clones for two of the favorites from Jamba Juice's big list of fruity smoothies.

Banana Berry

For the strawberry juice in this one, use the canned Kern's nectar found in most supermarkets.

3/4 cup apple juice
3/4 cup strawberry juice
2/3 cup frozen blueberries
1 banana, sliced
1 scoop raspberry sherbet
1 scoop vanilla nonfat frozen yogurt
1 cup ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until all the ice is crushed and the drink is smooth.

Makes one 24-ounce drink.

Orange-A-Peel

Make sure you get fresh squeezed orange juice for this one if you want it to taste like the real thing. Jamba Juice squeezes oranges in a big ?ol orange squeezer machine. This detail makes all the difference in the flavor.

1 1/2 cups fresh orange juice
2/3 cup frozen whole strawberries
1 banana, sliced
2 scoops vanilla nonfat frozen yogurt
1 cup ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until all the ice is crushed and the drink is smooth.

I made one of these last night, I had no time yesterday for lunch or dinner and so I found myself starving to death at around midnight.

Delicious! I loved it! :-D

Hi Michael,

I tried the Orange-A-Peel smoothie. It was actually very similar to Jamba Juice. I used regular vanilla ice cream cause I didn't have any frozen yogurt at home. I think that made it extra sweet. It was so good!

I'm actually super hungry again and so I think I might go get lunch soon. There is a Thai place by my work that serves really good shrimp curry. Yumm! I rode my bike this morning and so I have worked up quite an appetite.

Take care,

Lexi

I work kind of far from my home but it's not too, bad.

I work in downtown Santa Ana. It's Friday and me and a few co-workers that live in my area decided that we would ride our bikes to work. I actually kept up pretty well. The leader of our bike group is training to ride his bike to Mexico and so I thought he might leave me in the dust. I made it o.k. from Brea but I was so very tired at the end. Not sure if I will ride in from work again. Thankfully, I am getting a ride home tonight.

My whole body felt spaghettied when I got to work. I took a shower and felt great the whole rest of the day though. I might do this again someday just not any time soon.

Anyway, I have been absolutely unproductive all day today.
I've been in here what seems like a dozen times today. :)

Lots of things on my mind... I decided to take the job I told you about in another post. Think I'll go to the beach tonight and...have a smoothie!! :)

Have a good weekend! :-D
