I showed this to my friend and he said the same thing... I guess you both are right :)

But still: is it possible to do shots like these of a single bird?

yes it is possible. my camera has this feature....i forgot the name of it. multiple shots? basically, after setting this feature on, you hold down the shutter button and it keeps taking the picture until you release it. ^_^

That's a feature for taking multiple shots, yes, but what I meant is: taking multiple shots and have all those shots appear on the same picture -- as if all those shots got photoshopped together into a single image ;) Know what I mean?

oh...um.....it doesn't seem possible.

oh wait! there is this thing called "double exposure."

i played with this feature back in high school. i set up the tripod, set the feature on and have someone take a picture of me on one side of the counter and then the other side and it came out on one photo. this was done with a 35mm though. i'm not sure if you could do that with a digital. hmm...i forgot what camera i played with. i'll find out and post it here later.

Right on, MB! It's called "Multi-Exposure" -- and it's only available for film cameras. So, Digital cameras are out of luck.

However, you can create the same effect in an image editor by layering each shot on top of each other and adjusting the opacity settings.
