Star Gazing...

Post by mb_rockstar »

The Geminid Meteor Shower
The best meteor shower of 2004 peaks on Dec. 13th.

http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2004 ... minids.htm

i just came back from standing outside for 30 min. straining my neck to catch a glimpse of this shower. unfortunately, there was too much light pollution. i wanted to so badly drive out to the beach or a place outside of the city, but it would be nice and safe if i had company.

one of these days i'm just going to dedicate a couple of nights just star gazing.

so, anyone else interested in star gazing? share your stories. ^_^

My co-worker loves to star gaze. He was all excited about his new telescope watching the moon the other night. He just said, "He's got a big ass... telescope." Maybe you and he can share the passion someday.

I pretty much gave up on telescoping since I can't find anything beside the moon hehehe... *dorky retarded*

Intelligent?

I used to be a hopeless romantic. I don't know where all that romance went though...

I must be dumb, too, because I never could see a thing. :D

Hi Michael,

I know, I am not usually that ditzy but I honestly could see nothing spectacular the last time I went star gazing. It was very romantci and I did appreciate the thought as we had a wonderful time just cuddling under the moonlight but I saw no stars.

We had gone to the Griffith Observatory and I made my boyfriend sit and listen to the short lecture that they provide for beginning astronomers. I thought it was pretty fun. We walked around outside afterwards and peered into their giant telescope. Pretty interesting, I love being outdoors on balmy nights but no stars were visible. :(

I'd love to go back there again sometime but I have not had much time and I heard that they were closed for construction. I will have to make a trip there this summer.

Yeah, I suppose taking off the lens cap would help you along a bit... :D

Take care,

Lexi
