WOW! that's quite an impressive list of movies, although there are stinkers like "Species II" (though I still thought Natasha Henstridge was hot!), many of the others are great films..."Enemy at the Gates", "apocalypse now", "Godfather" (of course), "insider", and "MEMENTO"! One of my all-time favorites! :)

hmm...we've different kind of pay tv, 1 is for mgm classics, 1 for 70ies cop&crime movies, 1 only for scifi, 1 for movies nobody knows *u don't wanna know them also* and so on
the relatively new ones were:
  • the hours
    gangs of new york
the johnny depp pirate movie [ carribean curse anything, forget title always, "fluch der karibik" here ]
    monster's ball
    minority report
    matrix reloaded
    star wars II
    spiderman
    men in black 2
    triple x
eight legged freaks = arac attack
    pianist
    hart's war = das tribunal
    spy game
    royal tenenbaums
    showtime
    scorpion king
    panic room
    signs
    road to perdition
    down
    mr.deeds
    ice age
we were soldiers = wir waren helden
    black hawk down
    kick it like beckham
    john q.
murder by numbers = mord nach plan
    insomnia
sum of all fears = der anschlag
    bruce almighty = bruce allm?chtig
    ocean's eleven

i said relatively new, coz most of them i watched january lst year in usa, when i visited my ex-gf in philly...on cable [ pay ] tv, i think...
dunno, what sender, but there came stuff like spiderman, mib 2, ice age, bad company every day, sometimes even 2 times a day...during this month i watched spiderman 15x, but never the whole movie, only in sections. u knew, anytime next day it comes again...

so....

Must be nice living like that haha...

I know you don't care much for We Were Soldiers, but I liked it... one of my favorite war movies. Or was that The Patriot you didn't like? Either way, I liked both :)

Talking about War Movies... Black Hawk Down. Whew! What an intense viewing! Loved it!

i didn't watch neither patriot nor we were soldiers till now...i'm not interested in patriot. reasons: don't like heath ledger, can't stand mel gibson in such roles and the battle's look @#$%...they shoot 1 time, then reload. in this time the opponent shoots 1x, but the others keep standing. as if they want to be hit...was fuer eine @#$@#$ [Edited: Mike] ! ...

we were soldiers i keep here, watching it when i'm in mood...first i've to get windtalkers outta my mind, the disappointment was 2 great...

black hawk down was visually and action-wise a great movie...i watched it only in english, and didn't get any word...i mean, i did understand all, but can't remember any dialogue...was there any ? :D...

btw, enemy at the gates they shoot 2 hrs near me...

Please keep cuss words, even in different languages, out of the forum :)

Do you know why they shot only once on each side for Patriot? That's how they used to fight :) It was developed by the British and was very successful. In fact, the British were the world leaders at that time and their military strength was feared. Yeah, I know... who in their right mind would just stand there and shoot, right? Well, they did that wave after wave. That's why when they fought against the Americans during the American Revolution (which Patriot signifies), the Americans did Guerilla warfare (not standing in lines and doing what they did in the movie: surprise attacks, then run away. This was completely new to the British and the French at that time.)

Black Hawk Down... ahh... still love the film :)

I agree that WindTalkers was not such a great movie. You should go watch Saving Private Ryan (or as we jokingly call it, Saving Ryan's Privates hehehe...)
