By the end of 1999 and at the age of only 24, Coco already is one of the world's biggest pop sensations, with sales topping nearly
7 million albums in Asia alone. It only seemed natural when the much anticipated English-language album,
"Just No Other Way", debuted world-wide on February 29, 2000, making her the first Chinese singer to go
international.
Lee has come a long way, however. When she entered a TVB Singing Contest for fun that, to her
surprise, landed her a singing contract with Capital Artists, her career didn't start soaring
until a couple years later when she signed with Sony Music. With such a muscle company backing the singer,
Coco's outgoing and energetic style started to create a huge following in Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
"Di Da Di", which was titled after the sound of falling rain drops, scored tremendously in album sales,
and now many fans are looking up to Coco to bring the "Chinese flavor" to the world. Go Coco!
